[absolutely not from canon because I decided the canon first interaction of Cal and Dirk didn't have quite the resonance I needed but what I wrote is vaguely implied here]
Hellion appears to be around 9 years old and is sitting with a puppet that's nearly as big as he is in his lap. The puppet has an...interesting face: wide, bright blue eyes and thick eye lashes, luscious red lips with a big toothy grin (one tooth is gold), and painted cheeks. He's got long, floppy limbs (wrapped around Hellion) and is decked out in an orange suit with a black bowtie with a purple shirt over it. He's also got a hat on sideways, white gloves, and little red and white sneakers. Around his neck is a gold medallion necklace. He looks like this and would probably be considered creepy to anyone that didn't have an affinity for puppets (and possibly to some who do).
However, Hellion is talking aloud to the puppet and his tone suggests extremely close friendship, practically familial. He's discussing really casual and not very informative topics like how it rained all day so he couldn't go outside and that sucked. The puppet seems to agree that it sucked, but somehow manages to convey a sort of relief that Hellion did not go outside in the storm. Hellion frowns a little at this and says he's definitely big enough to handle it and he probably should have gone out anyway. The puppet still disapproves, so Hellion relents and says it was whatever that he didn't because at least he found a cool movie for them to watch and it wasn't one of Bro's but he still he sort of liked it. Then he asks, "What'd you think, Lil Cal?"
After everything Hellion says, he pauses to let Lil Cal reply. For some of the replies he speedily puppets Cal, making it look like the puppet is actually animatedly responding, sometimes waving his little gloved hands, sometimes gently touching Hellion's face or patting his hair. Cal laughs occasionally and it sounds like "HAA HAA HEE HEE HOO HOO." The memory ends with Cal "telling" Hellion to try to get some rest, which Hellion reluctantly agrees to do even though he doesn't think he can, wrapping a pool-ball covered blanket around the both of them and cuddling up together. They fistbump each other before Hellion closes his eyes.

HAHAHA Hellion was drunk when he took the memory. So his initial reactions are going to be sort of through the fog of inebriation. First he was like, haha I was a cute kid and haha that puppet is a hell of a lot of fucking awesome. And then the recognition hit. Lil Cal. LIL CAL. LIL MAN C-MAN CAL HOLY SHIT. He knows Cal meant the world to him. Even without the FLOOD OF EMOTIONS after recognizing that beautiful puppet face, he would have been able to tell how important he was because his 9 year old self talked to Cal just like a person and while, yeah, that could just be childhood imagination and could have just been a phase, he could hear Cal talking back to him. Even now, at nearly 16, he perfectly understood what Cal was saying in response and even though he knows Cal couldn't move on his own, he still considers having to puppet Cal's motions as actions belonging to Cal. Basically, Cal is his own person in Hellion's mind. Right now he doesn't entirely understand everything about him, but he knows that Cal often took care of him (like in the memory) and that he loved and trusted the C-man more than almost anything.
So, he's thrilled that he's remembered Cal, and just a little annoyed with himself for forgetting someone so important, and with all that comes a slight sadness because Cal isn't...here. This will probably get a little worse when he stops being all ohh Cal~ swoon swoon swoon and also drunk because he actually is missing a member of his family after all, even though he thought he had them all here. And he will start looking for a way to reunite asap because he's going to have this little hollow spot in his heart until Cal is back with him. That's not going to change his personality much though. He's good at ignoring that sort of thing.
Otherwise, the memory doesn't say much about his surroundings (there is an outside and it was raining....yeah that's really helpful) or other people (no one physically around but Cal but that doesn't really mean much, especially since he mentions Bro). He talks vaguely about Bro and movies, so he will probably ask Dave about this, since it sounds to him like he either took movies from Bro to watch or Bro was a filmmaker of some sort? Regardless, he's continuing to feel pretty in the dark about his life. Plus the memory took place when he was young so he still doesn't know anything about where he was when he left.
