Reaction:
The way I've been doing memories is that he is only getting one half of his consciousness, even if he is simultaneous in control of his waking and dream self. So Hellion doesn't really understand what is going on here, why things are on fire, red strings in the sky, robros standing with him, etc, but he can pick up the tenseness of the situation, with the apparent need to hurry the fuck up and get shit done which is being impeded by the bullshit of this alien. And then he makes the mistake of agreeing to pull Cal out for some kind of dumb present and...ends up dropping him into a flaming ocean as he passes out. Headcanon is that literally the last thing Dirk sees before he completely blacks out is what the last three panels show. His best friend and guardian falling to his death. (At this point, in-comic, it isn't known what is the deal with Derse Cal. The Lil Cal that "dies" here is the one that Dirk associates with the most.) It's extremely distressing because not only was he not able to do what he needed, but he also accidentally murdered Cal. Sucks.
Anyway, Hellion is sort of broken up about Cal, especially since this is coming right after murdering Jade and watching his brother die. But if anything, this memory is making him reevaluate the way he treats people. He's going to be more detached for a little bit, less the ball of fluff he's been recently and more like he is in canon because he's feeling shitty about his choices and is putting his guards up again. He thinks it was dumb as fuck for him to agree to do anything that the aliendouche suggested and he paid for that.

BADASS BADASS BADASS. Ok I will write more about this later because it has some important info regarding Derse. But in terms of how he is going to react: basically in addition to being more of a serious asshole from the Cal memory, this is going to up the cool badass ante to higher levels. Dirk don't take no shit from no one. He's not concerned with people's reactions to him, doesn't give a fuck if he is provoking someone, and he might also try to be more confrontation with portraits. Dirk is a badass coolkid and doesn't afraid of anything.
